Artists-in-Residence

O God, whom saints and angels delight to worship in heaven:  Be ever present with your servants who seek through art and music to perfect the praises offered by your people on earth; and grant to them even now glimpses of your beauty, and make them worthy at length to behold it unveiled for evermore; through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.

 Gregs Logo

The Gregorian Singers is an ensemble dedicated to the development of Christian Spirituality. A sense of beauty is essential for belief in God. The Gregorian Singers maintain high standards of music and liturgy so that beauty may be the doorway through which we experience the beauties of God. The Gregorian Singers has received national radio airtime and is known for its broad repertoire, including chant, early music, shape-note hymns, Norwegian folk-hymns, as well as newly commissioned works.

The Gregorian Singers have enjoyed a fruitful and creative relationship with St. Paul's for years. Regular events include Advent Process, Great Paschal Vespers, Rogation Procession, Candlemass, and more! We are most grateful to Monte Mason, Founder & Director, for his creative work. Want to know more check out the "Gregs" at www.gregorianssingers.org for their full season of events at St. Paul's and beyond.

Mayr Boros, Artist-in-Residence

Mayr Boros is a textile artist, poet and cancer survivor. Previous to working as an artist/writer, she had a career in healthcare as a Registered Dietitian.

She is the founder of the "Bear and A Prayer" program, which is still a part of United Way (the Teddy Bear Program.) Mayr also developed the "Hope Chest Bears" program for children, which served as a fundraiser for Episcopal Relief and Development.

Her most recent work focuses on the international project "Hope Through the Labyrinth," in which handmade labyrinths are sent to other countries.

Connections are made with various organizations to send the visual presence of hope to areas that are struggling, such as the Karen refugees in Myamar, the Dorcas Widows and Children's Group, Uganda; the Karbola Fine Artists Group, Iraq, and countries where LiftKids.org have built self-sustaining villages for children in need.

Overall artistic interest/expression includes transformation through art and poetry, as well as various social justice issues. Her poetry provides reflections on abuse, homelessness, poverty, as well as creativity and spirituality. Current visual artwork includes making unique, hand-beaded labyrinths and purses, sold through her company, Inspired Art Designs.

Mayr's focus on transformation through art includes the development of workshops related to Art, Faith and Healing. Her class, "Art, Healing and the Labyrinth: Meditation in Motion," taught at Mayo Clinic as part of their Breast Cancer Healing Program, is now offered in the metro area.

Mayr is an artist in residence at St. Paul's Episcopal Church on the Hill, St. Paul. Her two children are also involved in the arts (writing, acting, painting.) They might describe her as a "mom-in-the-tail" of any bell curve on most days! Finally, as a 'wanna be' painter, Mayr has begun putting brush and paint on paper, hoping "something fun" will appear!
